Our coworkers are what make the experience at Kitchen & Company and our sister store, Reading China & Glass, so unique. We wanted to take a moment each week to highlight some of the amazing staff on our team!
This week meet Shannon S., Store Manager of our Lewes, Delaware store. Shannon has worked for the company for almost 9 years and definitely knows a thing or two about cooking so we wanted to make sure you know a thing or two about Shannon!
Q: Next month, you’ll be celebrating 9 years working for the company. Where were you before Kitchen & Company?
SS: Before Kitchen & Company, I still worked for Calvert Retail at Cape Wine & Spirits as the Store Manager/Assistant Buyer. When Cape Wine & Spirits was sold in 2013, I transferred to Kitchen & Company FT. Prior to working for Calvert Retail, I worked in Restaurant Management for 5 years and previous to that, I was an administrative assistant for Babies R Us.
Q: How did you end up working for Kitchen & Company?
SS: Right place, right time. I wanted to get away from the crazy nights in restaurant but still be in the customer service industry.
Q: When you’re not at work you’re favorite thing to do is:
SS: When I’m not taking my kids to swim practice, baseball, track and other activities, I take time for myself in my garden.
Q: Your favorite food to cook is:
SS: Anything on my Big Green Egg. Cooking on the egg is just as fun as eating the food. I get so excited when I cook on it that I go back in my fridge to see what else I can make.

Q: What’s one fun fact/ something no one would know about you?
I am an adrenaline junkie!! I enjoy bungee jumping, roller coasters…snowboarding…etc.…..and wine
