In this installment of Coworker Corner, we invite you to meet Kerry! He’s a grilling, cooking, and baking master who just so happens to be one of our longest employed coworkers!
You’ve spent nearly two decades holding down the fort at Reading China & Glass. What interested you in working for our company & what encouraged you to stay?
Location was actually the main reason I started with Reading China & Glass many years ago. It was four blocks from my mom’s house. I quickly found out through hard work and enthusiasm our company will encourage you to move up the ladder and help give you the tools for success.
What is your favorite thing to cook?
Breakfast! I love to cook for my family on a day when we are all off. My wife is a wonderful cook and this is a great break for her.
What’s your favorite thing to eat?
All things Mexican! I’ll soon look like a burrito if I do not slow down my intake!
One crazy fact that your guests may not know about you is:
I’ve run over 10,000 miles in my lifetime and completed 5 marathons and hundreds of races.
Each weekend Reading China & Glass does a demo. What has been your favorite one and why?
The knife demos around the holidays – spring and fall. We do something awesome for our community and at the same time get to know many of our guests on a more personal level.
Your idol is coming over for dinner — who is it and what are you preparing?
Well Jesus will not be coming to my house next time I see Him, so my next choice would be my mother. My mother has helped shaped the man I am today and I’m blessed to have my mom as a big part of my life. I would make her spaghetti & meatballs with homemade meatballs – just like she made my brother and I growing up.
Finish this sentence. The best part about my job is…..
Easy answer, the friends I work alongside. I’ve been fortunate to work with some amazing people over the years.
