Lodge Cast Iron Cornbread Demonstration – April 23 & 24


Join us this weekend from 11am-3pm for Cast Iron Cornbread!

We’re grabbing the Lodge Cast Iron 12″ skillet this weekend to bake crisp, buttery cornbread – a classic cast iron skillet recipe, but with a twist! We’ll be baking our cornbread in a Big Green Egg.*

Why cornbread? We were inspired by the National Cornbread Festival, which brings as many as 60,000 cornbread fans to South Pittsburg, Tennessee – the home of Lodge Cast Iron – the last full weekend in April every year.

This annual festival, in its 20th year, features carnival rides, fireworks, cornbread cook-off, food eating contests, and more. Also offered during the festival are tours of the Lodge Cast Iron foundry given by the people who work there –  a cool experience for any cast iron fan. This huge festival supports the town’s schools, clubs, churches, historical society, and more. The tricky part is that we can’t all attend (no matter how much we want to), but we can still celebrate! Swing by your local store to enjoy a taste of our Stonewall Kitchen Cornbread and a chat about why we love Lodge!
